Algae Peel Facial in Eastbourne
At Salon Forty Four, we offer a treatment that most people have never heard of but once they have it, they wonder why they hadn’t sooner.
A biological skin reset for acne, pigmentation & texture
If you’ve tried facials, peels, microdermabrasion or skincare and feel like your skin is “stuck” - this is often the treatment that changes that.
Algae peels work by stimulating circulation, oxygenation and cellular turnover using freshwater algae rich in microscopic spicules. These gently encourage the skin to shed congestion, release trapped pigment, and begin renewing itself in a healthier way.
This is why it is particularly effective for:
Acne and active breakouts
Red acne marks (PIE)
Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH)
Sun damage and uneven tone
Chest, back and arm pigmentation
Congested pores and blackheads
Rough texture and keratin build-up (keratosis pilaris)
WHAT IS AN ALGAE PEEL
So what actually is it?
The peel is made from pure freshwater algae containing tiny silica structures called spicules. During application, these create gentle stimulation in the upper layers of the skin.
This stimulation encourages the skin to:
Increase circulation and oxygen flow
Speed up healthy cell turnover
Release trapped congestion and keratin
Reduce pigment and uneven tone
Strengthen the skin barrier rather than weaken it
Nothing is being stripped away.
Your skin is simply being encouraged to do what it’s designed to do — renew.

Most clients notice gentle micro-peeling between days 2–5. This is not heavy peeling, but a light shedding of dead skin as congestion, keratin and pigment are released.

The full renewal process takes around 7 days. You’ll gradually notice clearer, smoother, brighter skin over this time.
-
Yes. The diode laser used at CK Laser is suitable for a wide range of skin tones. Settings are adjusted carefully for your skin type and sensitivity to ensure both safety and results.

No. Chemical peels use acids to remove layers of skin.
An algae peel encourages the skin to renew itself naturally without stripping or thinning the barrier. -
Many clients see visible improvement after one treatment. For acne, pigmentation and texture concerns, we often recommend a course of 2–3 treatments spaced a few weeks apart.
-
Avoid retinol, acids, exfoliation and active skincare for 5 days before your appointment. Arrive with clean, product-free skin.

For 48 hours avoid heat, sweating, gym and active skincare. Use only a gentle cleanser, barrier moisturiser and SPF 50.
